About the job

 

Our Category manager IT will identify and maintain an effective customer relationship with various strategic suppliers in support of Arvesta. You are a procurement specialist and manage the sourcing process for our IT department, preparing and publishing the tender, through to the analysis and finally finalizing and implementing framework contracts in coordination with internal customers.

 

  • Interface with the suppliers in an expert role to support our IT department to achieve overall strategic goals
  • Develop partnership and strategy based on research, expertise and understanding of key suppliers’ product offerings. Build consensus for recommendations with internal teams and IT management 
  • Must have the ability to engage and influence at both the operational and C-level with supplier and Arvesta stakeholders. You are able to build solid business cases and have a strong executive presence 
  • You provide a profound knowledge of IT technology, products, and services and understanding of IT goals and strategies in developing contracts and proposals. If needed, you collaborate easy with our legal department  
  • Perform analysis, interpretation, investigation, and research of complex contractual information. Advises team leads and IT management on contract interpretation and in developing solutions and formal recommendations 
  • You love to mediate project agreement, preparing the internal team for negotiations, and participation in trading agreement terms.  
  • Manage supplier performance on a regular basis through the use of cost, quality, delivery metrics and contract (re)negotiations  
  • Identify process improvement opportunities in order to drive better cost, quality and delivery performance 
  • You will work in close collaboration with our IT Service Manager and IT Manager Service & Delivery 
  • Participate to tactical supplier meetings in order to steer and optimize service quality 

Your profile

  • 10 year's experience of working within a purchasing role, from which at least 3 years in an IT category manager role, ideally in a large organisation 
  • You have a previous experience in providing administrative support in one or more of the following areas: Contract Management, IT Technology Services, ... 
  • Strong reporting skills and an analytical approach 
  • Able to develop positive productive relationships with suppliers and with multiple stakeholders within Arvesta 
  • Good communication skills at all levels, including those required for delivering strong service in a customer-facing role 
  • Strong organisational skills - both in terms of personal organisation and in relation to managing supplier records and the associated processes 
  • You are fluent in dutch and english
