About the job

 

At Arvesta, you will join the central purchasing department, General Procurement, as a Purchase Officer. This department supports all Arvesta entities by ensuring centrally managed, efficient, and high‑quality procurement processes.

You will work within the General Procurement Back Office team, which is responsible for operational procurement support. In this role, you will collaborate closely with colleagues from the Front Office, Finance, and various business stakeholders.

As a Purchase Officer (50%), you act as the central point of contact for Indirect Procurement processes and systems across Arvesta’s entities. You ensure accurate data processing, support internal users, and help safeguard a smooth and reliable procurement workflow.

 
Operational Back Office Responsibilities: 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for business colleagues and suppliers regarding Indirect Procurement processes and related tools.
  • Support the roll‑out of Arvesta’s integrated Procurement tool (e.g., data collection, user training, onboarding support).
  • Ensure accurate data processing in preparation for accounting closings and related deadlines.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date supplier data, internal user accounts, and other essential process information.
  • Align with Finance teams to address cross‑functional issues and questions.
  • Support the Front Office with sourcing, contract, order, and supplier management activities (e.g., contract preparation and follow‑up, support in tender input analysis).
  • Conduct data analysis and reporting using S/4HANA, Qlik, and/or Excel.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Procurement SLAs and KPIs.

 

Process Improvements & Optimization:

  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities with a positively critical and solution‑oriented mindset.
  • Challenge and refine your own ways of working by proposing improvements that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to the centralization of data and processes by creating and maintaining manuals, training materials, and work instructions.

Your profile

 

  • You have initial experience in a similar administrative or procurement‑support role.
  • Experience with ERP software, preferably SAP S/4HANA, is considered an asset.
  • You have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • You are communicative, well‑organized, and solution‑oriented.
  • You work accurately and have a strong analytical mindset.
  • You are a team player, yet able to work independently when needed.
  • You communicate fluently in Dutch and have a basic knowledge of French and English.
  • You are available on a part‑time basis (50%).
